playing with shadow on cut outs

Using a scalpel I cut out the brick shapes from the page, then photographed the page lifted up slightly to create a shadow:

From a piece of A3 size paper cup vertically I cut out bee hive related shapes from the sections then played around with bending and curling them around until I decided on a position & glued it in place.

With the cut out sections I had a go at joining them together by slotting them into one another like this:

                      These kind of reminded me of the cactus that look like it joins together:
                                    
                                       
I also reverted back to the first paper folding workshop technique that I learnt which was using a scalpel to slice evenly along the page, but I tried it at an angle to see what would happen:

I thought these shared a slight similarity with sea shells:

 

I don't think I'd have the patience!

(By the way this is my first ever blog, so apologies if it sucks!) From an A2 piece of paper we had to create something 3D. I found this a bit tricky & ended up with some sort of flower shape. The most difficult part to this was holding the form in shape. In the end I used glue, but had to sit there & hold it until it was dry & stuck together.

With another piece of paper I had ago at creating another shape. This one turned out less complicated looking & to me seemed like the shape of a vase, so I photographed it with the 'flower' in the neck.

The 'vase' shaped paper also looked good when the ends were squashed together, but I didn't find a way to hold this shape together, so I just tried to photograph it with my hand pushing down on it to give some sort of idea of how the 'bars' arched outwards.
